Fight Like a Girl Private Lessons
Why Private Lessons for your kids?
There are plenty of summer activities that keep kids busy. We're interested in helping them learn something they'll still be using years from now.
Unlike many activities that focus on performance or competition, self-defense training teaches skills that carry over into everyday life: speaking up, setting boundaries, handling pressure, solving problems, and feeling more capable in unfamiliar situations.
Our Fight Like a Girl private lessons give girls a chance to build confidence, athleticism, and practical self-defense skills in a fun, supportive environment.
Meet Coach Vanessa
Coach Vanessa Swesnik brings together a rare combination of experience as a classroom teacher, former law enforcement officer, and martial arts instructor. She holds a black belt in Krav Maga, a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and regularly trains and teaches self-defense, striking, and martial arts classes throughout Austin. She has spent years helping both children and adults develop practical skills for personal safety and confidence.
More importantly, Vanessa genuinely loves teaching kids. Her background in education allows her to adapt lessons to each child's age, learning style, and personality. She knows how to keep training engaging, challenging, and fun while making sure students leave every lesson feeling successful.
A Summer Activity That Works for Parents, Too
Private lessons are 45 minutes long and held at ATX Tactics.
Need to work while your child trains? No problem. Parents are welcome to stay and use our bleacher seating, and free Wi-Fi while lessons are in session. We'll even pour you a complimentary nitro cold brew from Dog Day Coffee while you catch up on emails, meetings, or your to-do list.
An Investment That Lasts
At $50 per lesson, these sessions are one of the most affordable ways to give your child individualized instruction from an experienced educator and martial arts coach.
The goal isn't just to teach punches and kicks. It's to help your child become more confident, more capable, and more prepared for the challenges they'll face as they grow up.
